Chelsea winger Willian has admitted that there was interest from Jose Mourinho. The ex-Chelsea manager is now at the helm of Manchester United.
The Brazilian was an integral part of Chelsea’s title winning team two seasons ago. He appeared 35 times that season as Chelsea cruised to the Premier league title under Mourinho.
However, he has not been able to repeat the feat as Antonio Conte has been preferring Pedro in that position. The league leaders are currently nine points clear of second-placed Tottenham and will be looking forward to maintaining their sublime form.
Willian might reconsider his future at the Stamford Bridge if he thinks his days are numbered under the Italian. He could follow Mata’s path who left the club to join the Red Devils.
Willian said, “Concrete, I do not know. But there was interest, yes. From Manchester United, because Mourinho is there too.
“From other clubs I do not know, but there are always some things on the internet. But I’m glad to hear that there are clubs that admire my work.”
