Henrikh Mkhitaryan reveals the actual reason behind their 3-0 win over defending champions Leicester City.
Mkhitaryan produced another excellent performance as he inspired United to their 12th win this season. Mkhitaryan opened the scoring against the Foxes. Zlatan Ibrahimović and Juan Mata scored the other two goals as United moved to within two points of the top four.
United paid £27m to Borussia Dortmund for the attacking playmaker but Mourinho had frozen him for the first few months. However, he came back brilliantly with back to back man of the match performances. The Armenian said that they were totally focused on themselves rather than focusing on Leicester City.
“The most important [thing] was that we didn’t think about our opponents; they lost their games but we have been concentrated on our game
“That’s what we did well because in the last game against Hull City we were thinking that our opponents had lost their game and we were thinking we had to win that game and were pushing too much.
“This time we didn’t and in this game we were more fresh in our head and were thinking only to win this game and then everything will be okay.”
