Ryan Giggs has said that he would be very happy if Manchester United had signed N’Golo Kanté. The midfielder joined Chelsea for £29m in this summer.
The Frenchman helped Leicester City to their maiden Premier League title and has been continuing his form with Chelsea this season. The French midfielder has been an integral part of Antonio Conte’s plans and has only missed a single match in the ongoing season.
United splashed a world record £89m for Paul Pogba to bring him from Juventus but the player hasn’t been able to recreate his form. If Chelsea does win the Premier League Kanté would be one of the fewest players who has won the Premier League back to back but with two different clubs.
Giggs said, “All I can say is that last season I hoped United would sign Kanté, and in the end his buy-out clause looked very good value at £29m.
Kanté hunts the ball down. He is so quick to cover space, get to the ball and make the tackle.
“I have played against that kind of opponent over the years. They are a nightmare – you cannot shake them off.”
