Celtic sensation Moussa Dembele insists he didn’t get distracted by the rumours that linked him with a move to Chelsea. The Premier League giants had expressed their interest in the player but were rejected by the Hoops after they slapped a £40m price tag on the player.
Dembele hogged the limelight after he was seen in London on the deadline day but later he cleared that he was there to consult a specialist for his knee injury. The 20-year-old scored a hat-trick as Celtic fought from behind to defeat St Johnstone 5-2 in the Scottish Premiership. The win extended their unbeaten run to 29 games in the Scottish League and Brendan Rodgers side are the favourites to win the title.
With Diego Costa’s future still doubtful, Antonio Conte wanted to bring in a standby who could replace him next season. The teenager has so far bagged 23 goals this season.
He said, “It’s easy not to get distracted. I’m a very calm kind of guy and I don’t really let this type of thing get in my head.
“I focus only on enjoying my football at Celtic and I’m very happy to be here.
“I don’t really listen to what has been said about me — I just try to get fit as quickly as possible and back on the pitch.”
