Antonio Conte has claimed that Liverpool can give a tough fight to Chelsea in the Premier League title race.
Liverpool have endured a tough 2017 so far. The Reds were humiliated by Championship side Wolves as they defeated the Merseyside club 2-1 to inflict their third straight defeat at Anfield. Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup after the defeat.
On the other side, Chelsea continued their blistering form as they blanked Brentford 4-0 in the FA Cup fourth round match. Willian, Pedro, Branislav Ivanovic and Michy Batshuayi all were on target as the Blues cruised to the next round.
Chelsea are scheduled to visit Anfield on 1st February. The table toppers are currently 10 points adrift of second-placed Liverpool and a win would virtually ensure their path towards their sixth Premier League crown.
Conte said, “Now we move our concentration to Liverpool.
“It will be a very tough game. To win away against Liverpool is never easy. When we played them at Stamford Bridge, we lost the game – the only one we lost here.
“After this game, there will be so many games to finish the season. But we want to continue on and to keep the right distance. Liverpool can fight until the end to win the title.
“To stay on top of the league is a dream. We are doing very well, but we have to try and arrive at the end and [if we do] we’ll deserve it.
“Nothing in the Premier League and FA Cup will be easy.”
