Jose Mourinho has made it clear that Anthony Martial will be eligible for a Premier League start only if he proves his credentials against Wigan. Manchester United are scheduled to entertain Wigan in the FA Cup fourth round fixture on Sunday.
United saw their unbeaten run end at the hands of Hull. The Tigers inflicted on United their first defeat in the last 17 games as they defeated the Red Devils 2-1. Despite the defeat, United qualified for the Final thanks to a 2-0 win in the first leg.
Martial didn’t start in the last two games. The 21-year-old was pictured in Paris and since then rumours have started to pour in that the French international might have been searching a new club. But Mourinho revealed the player took his permission before leaving for his homeland.
He said, “I don’t know. I don’t speak with the players about how they take it.
“He will play Sunday and if Sunday he plays magnificent, he will play against Hull City the next match. It’s simple.”
