According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are in talks with Atalanta to discuss the potential transfer of Ademola Lookman next summer. The latter club reportedly want around €60-65 million to sanction the move of the attacker.
Ademola Lookman is delivering good numbers
Ademola Lookman joined Atalanta in the summer of 2022 and has been a solid performance for the club since then. He has solidified his position in the team, all thanks to his consistently impressive displays. Understandable why he has attracted so many eyeballs.

Lookman is enjoying a good campaign in the 2024-25 season so far. He has already netted 15 goals and provided seven assists in 28 games. He is averaging 2.6 shots, 1.9 key passes, and 1.2 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Nigerian attacker is versatile to play in different positions in the attacking line. He has a good pace, sensible passing skills, and effective dribbling abilities. He provides strong finishing touches around the penalty box and can also score from long range.
A replacement for Luis Diaz?
Liverpool are unsure about the long-term continuity of Luis Diaz at the Anfield amid interest from multiple clubs. Should he decide to leave, the club should be equipped to replace him for next season. Hence, they are showing interest in Ademola Lookman.
Lookman is already delivering great numbers on the left flank and his arrival will further solidify the Reds’ offensive line. He is at the peak of his powers and can contribute some important years to Arne Slot’s side.
However, the €60-65 million demand for Atalanta could be a problem for Liverpool. They might not prefer spending that much on the 27-year-old attacker. Instead, they might run after Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon who will not come cheap but can be an investment for many years to come.
