Tottenham Hotspur overpowered Manchester United by 4-3 in the EFL Cup quarter-final round. The former side were much more dominant throughout the 90 minutes than the scoreline says so as Fraser Forster made two blunders to gift two goals.
Anyway, Spurs will be carrying a lot of confidence and courage ahead of their next big battle. The much-anticipated clash lies against Liverpool in the Premier League this Sunday. As the game will be played at Hotspur’s home, they will have the support of the home crowd to deliver a positive result.
4-3-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs Liverpool
Defence
Fraser Forster made massive blunders against Manchester United and he needs to prove himself firmly against the Reds this weekend. Pedro Porro maintains his position in the lineup as the exclusive right-back.
Radu Dragusin and Archie Gray did decently well and didn’t deserve to have three goals scored. However, the duo will be focusing on the bigger challenge they have lined up. Spurs will be boosted from the return of Destiny Udogie, who missed the previous game due to a thigh injury.
Udogie should walk back into the XI as the left-back at the cost of Djed Spence.
Midfield
Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma were excellent against the Red Devils in controlling the tempo of the game. Ange Postecoglou has no reason to alter anything.
Attack
Dejan Kulusevski runs down from the right wing with Son Heung-min joining the attack from the other flank. Dominic Solanke is the sole striker in the lineup with having James Maddison operating behind him.
Ben Davies (hamstring), Cristian Romero (thigh), Micky van de Ven (hamstring), Guglielmo Vicario (ankle), Wilson Odobert (hamstring), Richarlison (hamstring) and Rodrigo Bentancur (suspended) are all unavailable for this clash.
Notably, both Mikey Moore and Timo Werner are down with illness and will be assessed before the game.
