According to Defensa Central, Manchester United is interested in signing Real Madrid’s young prodigy, Arda Guler, in the January window. To reduce the cash price, the Premier League club are ready to offer Antony in return.
Arda Guler isn’t getting enough minutes
Arda Guler came to Real Madrid from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023. In his very first season, he managed to impress everyone with his immense talent. He has shown promising signs and his reputation is on a rising spree even on the international stage.
Guler featured in 12 games last season and netted six goals in the process. He averaged 1.5 shots, 1.3 key passes, and 1.4 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Turkish attacker mainly plays on the right wing but can also operate as an attacking midfielder. He has great control over the ball and has incredible dribbling skills. He creates scoring opportunities with his passes and can also shoot from a distance.
Real Madrid unlikely to entertain such offers
After an impressive debut season, Arda Guler was expected to take centre stage this season. However, the arrival of Kylian Mbappe has ruined the expectations. The youngster is struggling to get enough game time which might hinder his development as a player.
Sensing an opportunity, Manchester United is reportedly keen on acquiring Guler’s services. The English giant have already spent a lot in recent transfer windows and doesn’t want to damage their account books any further.
Hence, the Red Devils are willing to offer Antony in exchange for signing the 19-year-old. The Brazilian has anyway failed to justify his high price tag and be an impactful figure at Old Trafford.
However, Real Madrid are unlikely to accept such an offer in the January window. They have invested in Guler for long-term returns. They would prefer sending him on a loan spell rather than completely offloading him.
