In a recent report, AS stated that Real Madrid have set their sights on Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are hoping to bring the Spanish talent to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Porro’s Impressive Form In The Premier League This Season
Porro has made a decent start to this Premier League season after he put in a run of impressive displays on the right side of Ange Postecoglu’s defence. The 25-year-old has made ten appearances for Spurs during this campaign, scoring one goal in all competitions.
The Spanish right-back has been a good contributor on the right flank as he is averaging 2.4 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 1.8 clearances, 1.9 shots and 1.8 key passes per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been careful when distributing possession based on his pass success rate of 77.2% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the North London club will expire in the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for Real Madrid to snap him up on the cheap next year.
Will Porro Be A Good Option For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?
Porro is a tough-tackling defender who can make the odd interception for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the front foot but can sometimes be caught out of position when defending at the back.
The Spanish sensation can strike the ball with power from long range and can create some decent plays for his teammates up top. He mainly operates as a right-back but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so.
Porro would no doubt bring more quality to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. He has what it takes to serve as an ideal replacement for Dani Carvajal at the Madrid club in the long run.
At 25, Porro has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a great option for Los Blancos to consider in 2025. He already knows La Liga well from his time at Girona and Real Valladolid and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
