In a recent report, Calciomercato stated that Real Madrid are keeping a keen eye on Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are showing interest in bringing the Italian defender to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Cambiaso’s Impressive Form In Serie A This Season
Cambiaso has caught the eye with his performances on the left side of Juventus’ defence during this campaign. The 24-year-old scored one goal and grabbed one assist in 11 matches for the Turin club this season across various competitions.
The Italian talent has proven his worth on the left flank by averaging 1.5 tackles, 0.8 clearances, 0.5 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in Serie A. He was even accurate when distributing the ball after completing 91.6% of his attempted passes in the Italian top flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club will expire in the summer of 2029 which could make it tough for Los Blancos to recruit him on a cut-price deal next year.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Get Cambiaso On Board?
Cambiaso is a tough-tackling full-back who usually clears the danger when needed. He can strike the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to create a few decent chances for his teammates up top. The Italian defender is a good dribbler with the ball as well. He mainly operates as a left-back but can also serve as a right-back or play as a right-sided wide player if required.
However, Cambiaso might need some time to settle into life in Spanish football if Real Madrid manage to acquire his services next year. We can expect him to inject more quality into Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. The Italian sensation might even help the Madrid club compete across all fronts in the coming years.
At 24, Cambiaso has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for Ancelotti to consider in 2025. Therefore, Real Madrid would be wise to go all out to get him on board this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Ancelotti has to be patient with his progress before he can get the best out of him at the Madrid club.
