Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said that he won’t say much as he has a lot of respect for Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson recently said that if United hadn’t had so much draws they would have been chasing Chelsea for the Premier League. Mourinho’s United are currently unbeaten in 17 games and will have to beat Hull City in the EFL Cup semifinal to be in contention for their first major trophy of this season.
United didn’t have a good start to the season at all. Chelsea inflicted the heaviest defeat in Mourinho’s Premier League career as they defeated them 4-0. The Portuguese also found himself in a major problem as he got two touchline bans in his brief stint.
He said, “I don’t want to comment, I think I shouldn’t comment.
“Obviously he’s such an important person in the club and obviously it means a lot, but I don’t want to comment because I wouldn’t comment even if the comments were negative. I have too much respect.
“The support I feel is the support I always felt with him, except when I was a direct competitor and playing against his teams. But I always felt this kind of support.
“I think he felt the same when I was abroad, in Italy and Spain. Friends wishing good to each other, supporting each other by a simple SMS that can mean a lot in a certain moment. No more than that.
“He’s very respectful too. He doesn’t want to be around. He doesn’t want to be around too many times. I think he feels completely free.
“I told him this is house, always and forever, but just a couple of times he travelled with us on the bus, he visited us once. We know this is his club, his life and that he’s supporting us.”
