In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Barcelona are eyeing a move for Sevilla defender Loic Bade. It has been mentioned that the Catalan club are showing interest in recruiting the French centre-back next year.
Bade’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football
The 24-year-old has been a rock at the back for the Andalusian club after he put in a string of impressive performances at the centre of their backline. Bade has made eight appearances for Sevilla this season, securing one assist on all fronts.
The French talent has been a good performer when defending inside his half as he is averaging 2.0 tackles, 0.8 interceptions and 4.5 clearances per 90 minutes in La Liga. He was even excellent when distributing the ball from the back based on his pass completion rate of 84.8% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Bade is under contract at the Spanish club until the summer of 2029 which could make it tough for the Catalan club to sign him on the cheap next year.
Should Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick Get Bade On Board?
Bade is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive.
Standing at 1.91m, the French talent is a strong presence in the air and can pose a threat from set-pieces inside the opponent’s penalty area. He has already proven his worth in La Liga and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Nou Camp if Hansi Flick can find a way to get a deal done for him next year.
At 24, Bade has his peak years ahead of him and would add a lot of quality to Barcelona‘s backline. Therefore, it makes sense for the Catalan club to try and get him on board this January or at the end of this campaign.
Furthermore, Bade has what it takes to help Barca challenge for some major trophies in the coming years. With all things considered, Flick would be wise to go all out to snap him up next year as long as he can sign him for the right price.
