Chelsea Join Race For This Shakhtar Donetsk Rising Star: What Will He Bring?

Chelsea have joined the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Georgiy Sudakov and they will compete with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur for the youngster, as per a report published by i news.

Georgiy Sudakov is a highly-rated talent

Georgiy Sudakov came through the ranks of Shakhtar Donetsk and went on to make his senior team debut in 2020. Since then, he has been climbing up the ladders gradually and has recently established himself as a mainstay in the squad.

Sudakov played an instrumental role in helping Shakhtar Donetsk win the domestic league last season. He had 10 goals and six assists to his name in 34 games.

The Ukrainian footballer mainly plays as an attacking midfielder but can also feature on the left wing. He is technically sound and extremely comfortable on the ball. He is quite decisive in the final third and can also help on the offensive front immensely.

Georgiy Sudakov has many options

Despite spending a high sum in recent seasons, Chelsea still lack firepower in their lineup. They are over-reliant on Cole Palmer to find the back of the net. Hence, it’s understandable if they go after some attacking players in the upcoming transfer windows.

Georgiy Sudakov is a name that is in great demand in world football. His rise has been promising and he is expected to entertain a European move soon. His qualities and versatility in the final third could be extremely useful.

However, the signing won’t be easy for the Blues as several major clubs are keeping an eye on the youngster. Sudakov might prefer other clubs over Etihad Stadium as they can offer better projects. Chelsea have been struggling for some while and if they fail to secure a Champions League berth for next season, things can get tougher for them.
