In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Barcelona are among the clubs hoping to land West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus. It has been mentioned that the Catalan club would have to rival Liverpool and Manchester City among other European clubs in pursuit of the Ghana international.
Kudus’ Impressive Form In The Premier League
Kudus has made a decent start to this Premier League campaign after he put in a couple of impressive for the Hammers recently. The 24-year-old has scored one goal and picked up one assist in nine matches for West Ham this season across all fronts.
The former Ajax talent was a reliable performer in the final third as he is averaging 2.9 shots, 0.7 key passes and 3.3 clearances per game in the Premier League. He was even tidy when distributing the ball deep inside the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 88.2% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the East London club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, Barcelona would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Kudus next year.
Is Kudus A Good Choice For Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick?
Kudus is a great dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some driving runs with it in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He has got the vision to engineer a few decent chances for his teammates in the final third and can strike the ball with power from long range.
The Ghana international is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a right-winger or as a centre-forward if told to do so by his manager. He would no doubt bring more firepower to Barcelona boss Hansi Flick’s frontline.
At 24, Kudus has his best years ahead of him which makes him an excellent choice for the Catalan club to pursue next year. He has what it takes to help Barca challenge for some major honours over the next few years. Thus, it makes sense for the Catalan outfit to go all out to bring Kudus to the Nou Camp in the January transfer window or next summer.
