In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke claimed that Everton have identified Red Bull Belgrade winger Silas Katompa Mvumpa, who is currently playing on loan from VfB Stuttgart, as a target. It has been revealed that the Toffees are eyeing a move to bring the Congolese wing wizard to Goodison Park next year.
Silas’ Decent Loan Spell In Serbia
The 26-year-old has managed to shine at times while on loan at Red Star Belgrade during this campaign after he produced a few eye-catching displays for them out on the flanks. Silas has found the back of the net twice in five matches for the Serbian outfit thus far across multiple competitions.
The Congolese wide player has been a decent performer in Europe as he is averaging 1.0 shots, 0.5 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per game in the UEFA Champions League. He was even careful when distributing possession from the right wing based on his pass success rate of 83.3% in European football (stats via whoscored).
Silas’ current contract at his parent club Stuttgart will run out in the summer of 2026. Therefore, the Toffees could potentially land him on a cut-price deal in 2025.
Should Everton Boss Sean Dyche Snap Silas Up?
Silas is a great dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He can strike the ball with power and precision from long range and has got the vision to engineer some decent chances for his teammates in the final third.
The Congolese talent has added some goals to his game but needs to find a way to pick up more assists from the flanks. He is primarily a right-winger but can also operate as a centre-forward if told to do so by his manager.
Silas would add more quality and depth to Everton boss Sean Dyche’s attack. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at Goodison Park in the coming years. At 26, Silas has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a good choice for the Toffees to consider next year. Thus, the Merseyside club would be wise to snap him up this January or at the end of this season.
