In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Arsenal are eyeing a January move for Red Bull Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. It has been stated that the Gunners are showing interest in bringing the Slovenia international to the Emirates Stadium in the winter transfer window.
Sesko’s Impressive Rise In The Bundesliga
The 21-year-old is enjoying a great campaign at the Bundesliga club after putting in a few impressive performances for them in the final third. Sesko has scored six goals and earned three assists in nine matches for his current employers this season on all fronts.
The Slovenian talent has led the line well by averaging 1.7 shots, 0.5 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. However, he needs to improve his ball distribution on the offensive end of the field based on his pass completion rate of 69.1% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Red Bull Arena will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, the Gunners would have to make a convincing offer if they want to snap him up on a cut-price deal next year.
What Will Sesko Bring To Arsenal?
Sesko can find some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some decent openings for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. The Slovenia international can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He can also use his strong 1.95m frame to win a few aerial duels for his team.
Sesko would no doubt bring a lot of quality to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He has what it takes to secure a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium next year. At 21, Sesko has the potential to be a world-class forward someday.
Therefore, it makes sense for the Gunners to try and get a deal over the line for him this January or at the end of this season. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the high intensity of the Premier League if the London giants manage to land him next year.
