Chelsea entertained Gent at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a positive result at home in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The Blues made a good start to the contest and scored the opening goal in the 12th minute when Renato Veiga found the back of the net. Enzo Maresca’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Pedro Neto doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 46th minute but Tsuyoshi Watanabe got a goal back for the visitors just four minutes later. Christopher Nkunku restored his team’s two-goal advantage in the 63rd minute before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall killed the game off when he scored for the Blues in the 70th minute. Omri Gandelman grabbed a late consolation goal in the 90th minute as Chelsea cruised to a dominant 4-2 win in front of their home fans.
