Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has revealed that he wants to follow the path of Thierry Henry. The midfielder arrived from Basel last season.
The Egyptian is currently on international duty with Egypt at AFCON. The 24-year-old has been a regular member of Arsene Wenger’s squad and was involved in a major part of the season after arriving from Basel.
This season he had appeared in 11 matches before joining his national team for the AFCON.
With Granit Xhaka suspended for four games Elneny could have been the alternate option had he been presented here. The player wished his desire to be the same as Arsenal legend Henry.
“I want to be a legend at this club.
“Like Thierry Henry. I mean, obviously not exactly like him. I have my own personality, my own character. I want to be different to anyone that’s gone before.
“But since I got here, I’ve always had that in mind. I wanted to become an Arsenal legend.”
