Manchester United have already started exploring options in the market as they start to lose faith in Erik ten Hag. According to Inter Live, the Premier League club have identified Italian manager Simone Inzaghi as a potential replacement for the Dutchman.
Erik ten Hag’s job is at risk
After a promising start in the managerial role at Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag could deliver an average season in the 2023-24 campaign. Despite that, the club backed him and even spent big to sign the players he wanted in this summer window.
Now with all the resources provided, the Red Devils are obviously expecting an outstanding season. However, the start of the new campaign hasn’t been fruitful. The English giant have managed to accumulate only seven points in five games.
While the season is still long, Erik ten Hag is said to have limited time to overturn the situation. If he fails to do so, the management at Manchester United wouldn’t mind sacking him and bringing in a new manager in the middle of the season.
Simone Inzaghi is one of the best managers at present
Many managers have been linked with Manchester United in recent weeks with Simone Inzaghi being the latest to get added to the list. The Italian manager has been winning trophies with Inter Milan since joining them in 2021.
Inzaghi has transformed Inter Milan and made them a force to reckon with. He is known to get the best out of the players and deploy tactical masterclasses. He likes to play with a formation of 3-5-2 with the ball and shift to 5-3-2 without the ball.
Bringing Inzaghi could be a good move given his proven numbers. The Red Devils already have great talents at their disposal, and the Italian manager can formulate a winning squad. Joining Old Trafford should be an exciting move for him too as it will allow him to compete with the likes of Pep Guardiola, Arne Slol, and Mikel Arteta.
