Chelsea will face off against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium this Saturday night as they try to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Blues were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace before the international break, so they would be eager to secure a victory this weekend.
Enzo Maresca will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could be forced to make one change to his first XI for this game. Reece James is expected to play from the start of this contest if he can recover in time for this game.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Bournemouth
Defence
Robert Sanchez will function in between the sticks for the West London club after he shipped in one goal in his last outing. Wesley Fofana will resume his defensive partnership with Levi Colwill as they look to keep the Bournemouth attackers frustrated throughout the game.
Reece James could start at right-back if he can recover in time for this clash. Marc Cucurella will be a nailed-on starter on the other side as the left-back. Maresca would give both of them the license to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Axel Disasi will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench. However, Malo Gusto is a major concern due to a thigh issue.
Midfield
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo will anchor the midfield for the West London club as they try to dictate the tempo of the game in the middle of the park. The gifted trio of Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke would play just ahead of them as part of Chelsea’s attack. All three of them need to combine well so that they can orchestrate some clear-cut chances in the final third.
Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Nicolas Jackson will lead the line for the Blues up top. He has to find a way to be a constant menace in the final third.
Christopher Nkunku will be named on the bench as he awaits his chance to shine in the final quarter of the game if the Blues are in need of a goal by then.
