In a recent report, Defensa Central claimed that Real Madrid are showing interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Spain international next year.
Ruiz’s Impressive Form In Ligue 1
Ruiz enjoyed a solid campaign at the French club after he put in a series of impressive performances at the centre of their midfield. The 28-year-old scored three times and secured seven assists in 35 matches for PSG last season across all fronts.
The 28-year-old was a good performer at the centre of the park as he averaged 1.6 tackles, 0.5 interceptions, 0.8 clearances, 0.9 shots, 0.9 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Ligue 1. He was even tidy when distributing the ball after completing 90.1% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it tough for Los Blancos to sign him on the cheap next year.
Is Ruiz A Decent Fit For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?
Ruiz is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when needed and can strike the ball with power from long range.
The Spanish midfield ace has got the vision to engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates up top and is an energetic runner with the ball. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as an attacking midfielder or as a holding midfielder if needed.
Ruiz would bring more quality and depth to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield department. He has what it takes to help the Madrid giants challenge for some major trophies over the next few years.
At 28, Ruiz is playing in his prime which makes him a great fit for Los Blancos to consider next year. He has already got some experience in La Liga and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Thus, Ancelotti should focus on going all out to bring him on board this January or at the end of this season.
