In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Manchester City are dreaming of a move for Bayern Munich talent Jamal Musiala. It has been claimed that Pep Guardiola’s team are eyeing a move to bring the German attacker to the Etihad Stadium in the future.
Musiala’s Decent Form In German Football Last Season
The 21-year-old experienced a promising campaign at the German club recently and did well to produce a handful of eye-catching displays for them on the offensive end of the pitch. Musiala scored 12 times and picked up eight assists in 38 appearances for his current employers last season in various competitions.
The German sensation was a good performer in the opponent’s half and deserves credit for averaging 2.4 shots, 1.8 key passes and 3.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He was even accurate when distributing possession in the final third as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 81.9% in the top tier of German football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Bayern Munich will expire in the summer of 2026. Thus, it won’t be easy for Man City to sign him on the cheap next year.
Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Go For Musiala?
Musiala is a good dribbler with the ball and can make a few driving runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He can shoot the ball with venom and precision from long range and has got the vision to create some decent plays for others around him in the final third.
The Germany international can even chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He mainly plays in the number ten position but can also operate as a left-sided wide player or as a box-to-box midfielder if needed.
Musiala would no doubt enhance the quality of Man City boss Pep Guardiola‘s frontline. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Mancunian club in the coming seasons.
At 21, Musiala has the potential to be a future star in European football. Thus, Man City would do well to lure him to the Etihad Stadium this January or next summer. The German youngster might even help the Mancunian club challenge for some major trophies in the future, so Guardiola should go for someone with his quality in 2025.
