In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Newcastle United are facing stiff competition for Brentford attacker Bryan Mbuemo. It has been claimed that the Magpies would have to rival Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City in the race to recruit the Cameroonian winger.
Mbuemo’s Impressive Form In Premier League Football
Mbuemo enjoyed an encouraging season at the English club recently as he put in a string of eye-catching performances for them in the final third. The 25-year-old netted nine goals and grabbed six assists in 27 matches for Brentford in the previous campaign in multiple competitions.
The Cameroonian talent was a decent contributor in the opposition half based on his average of 1.5 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Premier League. However, he lacked quality when distributing the ball after making just 73.8% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Brentford will run out in the summer of 2026 which could open the door for the Magpies to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

We can expect Mbuemo to bring more firepower to Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe’s frontline. He is good enough to fight for regular first-team football at St. James’ Park.
Mbuemo has got enough experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Tyneside club. At 25, he has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a decent choice for Newcastle to consider next year.
