In a recent report, journalists Danny Rust and Dean Jones mentioned that Barcelona are keeping a keen eye on Bayern Munich attacker Jamal Musiala. However, it has been claimed that the Catalan club would have to rival Manchester City, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to land the Germany international.
Musiala’s Impressive Form At The Allianz Arena
Musiala had a decent campaign at the Bavarian club recently after he put in a string of impressive displays for them in front of the opponent’s goal. The German talent found the back of the net 12 times and earned eight assists in 38 matches for Bayern Munich last season across all fronts.
The 21-year-old was a reliable performer in the final third as he averaged 2.4 shots, 1.8 key passes and 3.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He was even tidy when distributing the ball in the opposition half based on his pass success rate of 81.9% in the German first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2026. Hence, Barcelona could potentially sign him on a cut-price deal at the end of this campaign.
Will Musiala Be A Dream Choice For Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick?
Musiala is a good dribbler with the ball in the final third and can create some inviting chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field. He can shoot the ball with power and precision from long range.
The German youngster can even contribute by scoring and creating a lot of important goals for his team. He mainly operates as an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager.
Musiala would inject more quality into Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick’s frontline. He has what it takes to nail down a regular starting place at the Nou Camp next season. At 21, Musiala has the potential to be a generational talent which makes him a dream choice for the Catalan club to pursue next summer. However, only time will tell whether the German attacker can maintain his good form in La Liga if Barca manage to sign him.
