Aston Villa welcomed Arsenal at Villa Park earlier this evening as they focused on securing a win at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a good start to the game and managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
The West Midlands club conceded the opener in the 67th minute when Leandro Trossard scored with a clever finish for the Gunners. Thomas Partey doubled Arsenal’s advantage just ten minutes later as Aston Villa crashed to a lackluster 2-0 loss at Villa Park.

The Argentine keeper made a couple of good saves during the game and won’t be pleased after conceding twice in the second half.

The Spaniard made two important clearances at the back but it was not enough in the end.

RW: Leon Bailey – 6/10
Bailey caused some problems for his marker but was wasteful in the final third.
CM: Amadou Onana – 6/10
Onana worked hard for his team in the middle of the park but lacked quality on the ball.
CM: Youri Tielemans – 6.5/10
He got stuck in with a few solid tackles and was good on the ball.
LW: John McGinn – 6/10
McGinn worked his socks off on the left flank but never looked like a threat.
ST: Morgan Rogers – 7/10
He made a few energetic runs with the ball and managed to engineer a couple of inviting chances in the final third.
ST: Ollie Watkins – 6/10
Watkins got himself into some dangerous areas in the final third but wasted some great chances to score.
