Steven Gerrard has hailed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp saying that the club are very lucky to have him.
Klopp was appointed the manager last season and did a commendable job guiding the club to two cup finals in his maiden season. This season too, the Reds started very well but have somehow failed to keep up the momentum.
Klopp has been less busy in the transfer market than the other big clubs. Liverpool brought Sadio Mane and Loris Karius in the summer while Joel Matip was a free transfer from Schalke. They were linked with a host of players in the winter transfer window with the likes of Julian Brandt, Christian Pulisic and Julian Draxler but failed to sign any of them.
With Sadio Mane out for a brief period, Klopp might look for some other options in the transfer market.
Gerrard, who was recently handed over a coaching role in the Liverpool academy, said, “Klopp’s probably thinking ‘I don’t want to waste my money in January if the right people are not there,’ if Liverpool fans are losing trust in Jurgen Klopp right now, it’s incredible. For me, we’re lucky to have him, he’s a world class manager, he’s going to bring success to this football club.”
