Liverpool’s new era under Arne Slot kicked off on a good note as they comfortably beat Ipswich Town 2-0 in the Premier League 2024-25 season opener. Their next challenge lies against Brentford at home this Sunday.
The Reds should aim for nothing less than three points this weekend as they look to fight for the domestic title. With the crowd’s support and the team’s high morale, they can show an excellent display of football on the field.
4-2-3-1 Liverpool Predicted Lineup Vs Brentford
Defence
Apart from a couple of collections, Alisson didn’t have much to do in the previous game. He will be operating between the sticks once again for the Reds. Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was at his absolute best last week. He made important tackles as well as provided creativity in the final third. His place in the line-up is unquestionable.
While Virgil van Dijk continues to be at the centre of the defence, Ibrahima Konate is likely to replace Jarell Quansah, who was subbed off during half-time. Andrew Robertson’s spot as the left-back remains unchallenged.
Midfield
The match against Ipswich Town was enough to understand that Arne Slot will be using Ryan Gravenberch as the deep-lying midfielder. He will be responsible for controlling the tempo of the game and providing solidity in the midfield.
It will also allow Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to play higher on the pitch and hit the opponents on the offensive front as they have the abilities to do so.
Attack
Mohamed Salah enjoyed a good time on the right flank and also found the back of the net. He should continue to do his good work from the right side.
Luis Diaz is also certain for the left wing alongside Diogo Jota operating in the middle. Both were impressive and are capable of creating an opportunity out of nowhere.
