In a recent report, Gianluca DiMarzio mentioned that Real Madrid youngster Nico Paz is generating interest from Italy as Como are hoping to sign him this summer. It has been stated that the Argentine attacker is open to leaving Los Blancos to join the Italian side before the end of this transfer window.
Paz’s Impressive Rise In Spanish Football
Paz is a product of Real Madrid’s youth system and deserves credit for breaking out as a first-team starter for them recently. The 19-year-old has already made eight senior appearances for the Madrid outfit thus far, scoring one goal in the process across various competitions.
The talented teenager caught the eye with his performances off the bench in Europe as he averaged 0.3 shots and 1.7 dribbles per game in the UEFA Champions League. He was even tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after completing 91.7% of his attempted passes in European football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will expire in the summer of 2027. Hence, Carlo Ancelotti is under no immediate pressure to cash in on Paz this month.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Let Paz Go?
Paz can create some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. The Argentine whizkid can make some dangerous runs with the ball in the opponent’s half. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also function as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if told to do so.
The Spain-born talent has the potential to be a future star in European football as long as he continues to improve with each season. However, Paz would struggle to earn regular playing time if he stays at Real Madrid beyond this summer.
Thus, it is only fair to the player if Los Blancos let him go before the end of this summer transfer period. He is surplus to requirements at the Madrid club right now and would benefit from a change of scenery in search of more game time so that he can continue with his development in the coming years.
