Liverpool haven’t made a single signing this summer so far. But this could be changed in the coming weeks as the Premier League club are considering making a late move for Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman, according to TBR Football.
Ademola Lookman is a quality attacker
After plying his trade at multiple clubs, Ademola Lookman signed for Atalanta in the summer of 2022. The move turned out to be a great one for the player as he played his best football there. He showed his quality and started hitting the ground immediately.
Lookman was one of Atalanta’s key players last season. He featured in 45 games, netting 17 goals and providing 10 assists. He averaged 1.8 shots, 1.4 key passes, and 1.1 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Nigerian can play on the left wing as well as a striker. He is known for his explosive pace, dribbling skill and clinical finishing. He is very direct with his attacks and doesn’t shy away from going into one-on-one situations against defenders.
Should Liverpool sign Ademola Lookman?
Surprisingly, Liverpool hasn’t signed anyone this summer despite having a change at the managerial level. They were heavily linked with Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. However, the defensive midfielder decided to stay at his boyhood club.
But the Reds might finally add a name at their disposal as they are interested in Ademola Lookman. The club are considering signing the winger before the window closes.
It is surely a move in the right direction as Lookman has been impressive over the past few seasons. He has all the qualities to succeed at Anfield and can serve the club for many years to come. He is valued at €60m, which shouldn’t be an issue for the English giants.
Apart from Liverpool, the likes of PSG, Manchester City, and Arsenal are also keen on signing the player.
