Ruud Gullit has warned Paul Pogba not to repeat the mistake that Memphis Depay has done. Depay was recently sold to Lyon by United after he failed to prove his potential.
Pogba is known for his love for shoes and clothes. The French midfielder who arrived from Juventus has been a late bloomer for United. The world’s most expensive footballer has often been seen changing his hairstyles in each game. Recently he became the first player to have an emoji under his name.
Depay arrived from PSV under Louis Van Gaal last season. The Dutch international has been declared as a flop after getting so many chances. Unlike him, Pogba has already started to show what he is capable of but he has to keep up the momentum.
Gullit said, “Paul Pogba is going through the same thing at United as Memphis Depay.
“He may be the most expensive player in the world, but that does not count if he is spending more time on his dress style, the colours in his hair and his social media.
“Paul should ask Memphis – and he will realise that being successful and reaching top level in England is only possible if you perform every week and if you dedicate everything to your career.
“Even for the biggest football stars in the world there is a big rule: Playing well for your club comes first, don’t let all the other stuff catch the limelight. That is my advice.”
