In a recent report, journalist Pete O’Rourke mentioned that Everton are eyeing a loan move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah. It has been stated that the Toffees are hoping to land the English forward on a loan deal this month.
Nketiah’s Recent Form In The Premier League
Nketiah was a valuable member of Mikel Arteta’s squad in the previous campaign when he managed to put in a few impressive displays for the North London club in the final third. The London-born talent was involved in 37 matches for the Gunners last season, scoring six goals and securing three assists in all competitions.
The 25-year-old made most of his appearances off the bench which explains why he only averaged 1.4 shots, 0.3 key passes and 0.3 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He was tidy when distributing the ball in the opposition half based on his pass completion rate of 79.9% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Emirates Stadium will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it tough for Everton to snap him up on the cheap in this transfer period.
What Will Nketiah Bring To Everton?
Nketiah is proficient at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can be a streaky goal-scorer up top when he is playing with confidence on the pitch. The English sensation has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field. He is also quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty box.
We can expect Nketiah to bring more firepower to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for regular first-team football at Goodison Park next season. The English forward already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Merseyside club if Dyche manages to sign him on a loan deal in this summer transfer window.
At 25, Nketiah has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for the Toffees to pursue this month. Therefore, Dyche should focus on going all out to recruit him on loan soon.
