Defence
As Ederson stays at Manchester City this season, there is no doubt that he will remain the undisputed goalkeeper in the lineup.
While Josko Gvardiol should be deployed as the left-back, Rico Lewis is likely to keep his place as the other full-back. Kyle Walker joined the training this week and might not be fully ready to start the game.
Ruben Dias and Manuel Akanji are likely to play in the middle of the defence. They will have the massive task of keeping Chelsea’s attackers in check.
Midfield
Rodri also joined the camp recently after having an extended vacation. It means Mateo Kovacic should continue in the middle of the park, controlling the tempo of the game.
Veterans Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne will mark their presence in the starting lineup. That’s because Oscar Bobb suffered an injury during a practice session and Phil Foden might not be ready. So Savinho will operate on the right wing.
Jeremy Doku should play as the left-winger as he can create threats with his pace, dribbles, and creativity in the final third.
Attack
Erling Haaland is ready to lead the Citizens’ offensive line. Once again, he is expected to have a major impact on the game with his bangers.
Apart from the injured Oscar Bobb, Jack Grealish is doubtful for this clash.
