In a recent report, journalist Steve Kay mentioned that Manchester City are keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola. It has been revealed that Pep Guardiola is a big admirer of the France international and could move in for him this summer.
Barcola’s Impressive Form In Ligue 1 Last Season
The 21-year-old had a promising campaign at the French club recently after he produced a string of impressive displays on the left side of their attack. Barcola featured in 42 matches for PSG last season, netting five goals and grabbing nine assists in various competitions.
The Lyon-born talent was a consistent performer in the final third as he averaged 1.2 shots, 1.2 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game in Ligue 1. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 80.4% in the French top flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the French club will expire in the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for Man City to get a deal done for him on the cheap this month.
Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Snap Barcola Up This Summer?
Barcola can make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He can strike the ball well from long range and has got the vision to create some meaningful openings for his teammates on the offensive end of the field.
The French talent did well to add a handful of goals and assists to his game last season. However, it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if Man City manage to get him on board this summer.
Barcola would add more firepower to Man City boss Pep Guardiola‘s offensive department. He is good enough to serve as a decent replacement for Julian Alvarez at the Etihad Stadium.
At 21, Barcola has the potential to be a future star in European football. Therefore, he would be a terrific signing for the Mancunian giants in the long run. With all things considered, Guardiola should focus on going all out to snap Barcola up before the end of this transfer period.
