According to TyC Sports, Liverpool are highly impressed with Argentine prodigy Julio Soler’s progress. The Premier League club has even asked Club Atletico Lanus to provide information about the youngster as they are looking to sign him this summer.
Who is Julio Soler?
Julio Soler joined Club Atletico Lanus at the age of nine. He made his senior team debut in 2022 and since then, he has been climbing up the ladders. He has been a solid consistent performer for his side over the past couple of seasons.
On the international front, Soler is on the right path as he was part of the Argentina’s 2024 Paris Olympics squad. He even started in all three games for the country. His progress hasn’t gone unnoticed as several clubs are closely keeping tabs on him.
The Argentine plays as an exciting left-back who likes to attack. He is quick, can dribble and put good crosses into the box. However, he needs to work on his physicality and tackling ability going forward if he wants to be an elite player in his position.
A long-term replacement for Andrew Robertson?
Liverpool are impressed with what Julio Soler has shown in recent months. The club feel it would be the right time to invest in him. As the player has high potential, he can be nourished further and then be integrated into the senior side.
The approach won’t be wrong as the long-term future of Kostas Tsimikas at Anfield is uncertain. Moreover, Andrew Robertson is on the wrong side of 30 and will have to be replaced soon. Hence, it makes sense for the Reds to invest in a youngster at this point in time.
Liverpool are waiting for Club Atletico Lanus’ answer on Soler’s transfer. The latter is likely to sanction the move for $15 million this summer. The amount seems fair considering the quality and the potential the 19-year-old holds.
