In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo mentioned that Manchester City have made a move for Red Bull Leipzig playmaker Dani Olmo. It is believed that the Mancunian club have launched a good offer to acquire the services of the Spain international in this summer transfer period.
Olmo’s Good Record In Bundesliga Last Season
Olmo enjoyed a decent campaign at the German club after he put in a string of impressive performances for them on the offensive end of the field. The 26-year-old found the back of the net eight times and picked up five assists in 25 appearances for RB Leipzig last season across various competitions.
The Spanish talent gave a good account of himself in the final third based on his average of 2.1 shots, 1.5 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in Bundesliga. He was even accurate when distributing the ball from the back, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 79.6% in the German first division (stats via whoscored).
Olmo is under contract at the German club will expire in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for Man City to sign him on the cheap before the end of this transfer window.

Olmo is a decent playmaker in the final third as he can create some meaningful openings for his teammates up top. He can strike the ball with venom from long range and is a good dribbler as well.
The Spain international mainly operates as an attacking midfielder but can also function as a wide player if told to do so. However, he might need some time to adjust to the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if Man City manage to bring him on board in this transfer window.
At 26, Olmo has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a good option for the Mancunian giants to pursue this summer. Hence, Pep Guardiola would be wise to go for a player of his skill set if he wants to improve his attack ahead of the new campaign.
