Aston Villa Are Ready To Move In For This Serie A Talent: What Will He Bring To Villa Park?

In a recent print edition, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claimed that Aston Villa are ready to move in for Napoli talent Jesper Lindstrøm this summer. It has been stated that the Villans are hoping to land the Danish sensation this summer.

Lindstrom’s Recent Struggles At Napoli

Lindstrom struggled to catch the eye at the Naples club after he failed to be productive for them in the final third. The Danish attacker participated in 29 matches for Napoli last season but failed to find the back of the net or create a goal for them in multiple competitions.

The 24-year-old saw a lot of game time come off the bench which explains why he averaged 0.6 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even been accurate with his ball distribution, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 84.4% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the West Midlands club will run out in the summer of 2028 which could make it difficult for the Villans to snap him up on the cheap this off-season.

What Will Lindstrom Bring To Aston Villa?

Lindstrom can orchestrate some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and can make a few driving runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

However, the Danish sensation has to find a way to be productive in front of the opposition goal. He would bring more quality and depth to Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery’s match-day squad.

At 24, Lindstrom has his best years ahead of him which makes him a decent fit for the Villans in the long run. However, there are some serious question marks over whether he would able to handle the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football if Emery manage to bring him on board in this summer transfer period. Furthermore, Unai Emery might be the ideal man to oversee his development and help get the best out of the player at Villa Park over the next few years.
