In a recent report, Calciomercato revealed that France international Adrien Rabiot is dreaming of a move to Real Madrid this summer. It has been stated that the former Juventus midfielder wants to join Los Blancos this off-season amid interest from Liverpool and Newcastle United.
Rabiot’s Impressive Form In Italian Football
Rabiot enjoyed a decent campaign at Juventus recently as he managed to put in a run of influential displays at the heart of their midfield. The 29-year-old scored five goals and grabbed three assists in 35 matches for the Turin outfit last season on all fronts.
The French midfield ace anchored the midfield well based on his average of 1.9 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.2 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has even been excellent with his ball distribution after making 84.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Rabiot is a free agent at the moment, so Real Madrid would be able to secure his services on a free transfer if they decide to move in for him this summer.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Snap Rabiot Up This Summer?
Rabiot can do a little bit of everything at the centre of the park. He is a tough-tackling footballer who can make the odd interception for his team in the middle of the park. The French talent doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the offensive. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and can create some inviting chances for his teammates up top.
Rabiot is a good dribbler with the ball as well and has got a wealth of experience at the highest level. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a holding midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if needed.
We can expect Rabiot to add more quality to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the future.
At 29, Rabiot is still playing in his prime and has what it takes to make an immediate impact at the Madrid club. Therefore, it makes sense for Los Blancos to snap him up on a free transfer this summer.
