According to IlBianconero, Manchester United are interested in luring away Juventus winger Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window. The Premier League club believe the addition of the player will strengthen their unit ahead of next season.
Federico Chiesa has been impressive recently
Juventus initially signed Federico Chiesa on a loan deal in the summer of 2020 based on his stint at Fiorentina. However, after impressive performances, they made his switch permanent. Unfortunately, the player missed many matches due to injury but has been in good form at late.
Chiesa was impressive this season, where he managed to net 10 goals and provide three assists in 37 games. He averaged 2.3 shots, 1.6 key passes, and 1.1 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored). It was his best season on a personal level in Serie A.
The Italian is known for his versatility as he can play on both the wings as well as in the middle of the park. He has good dribbling skills, accurate passing technique, and goal-scoring instincts. He can also take good shots from outside the box.
A valuable addition for the Red Devils
Manchester United invested heavily in both Antony and Jadon Sancho but that didn’t pay off. Hence, they need to reinforce their attacking unit. In line with that, the arrival of Federico Chiesa could turn out to be a good move by the club.
Chiesa is a proven and experienced campaigner, who will add value and depth to the squad. His creative mind will help the side create more goals in the final third. As he is 26 years old, he is at the peak of his powers and can give many years at the Old Trafford.
