Chelsea will look to pull away from the chasing pack once more when they take on Hull City at Stamford Bridge in the last game of Matchday 22. The Blues suffered a jolt when Tottenham Hotspur brought their mighty winning run to a screeching halt with a 2-0 win at White Hart Lane. Chelsea had won 13 games in succession prior to that and were well on their way to the title.
They are still very much in the driver’s seat and will have a chance to widen the gap with Tottenham Hotspur playing Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. But with Liverpool playing Swansea, the 7-point gap with the Reds is likely to remain the same.
The affair against Hull City is expected to be quite straight-forward. The game will likely see the return of Diego Costa to the fold.
Chelsea have played a fairly settled team till now and Conte has made the least number of changes to his squad, which is in contrast to the struggling Pep Guardiola, who has made the most. Which perhaps gives an indication of the importance of having a settled state of affairs at the club.
Hull City are struggling and few will give them any chance against the League leaders on Sunday, which is perhaps the only positive for them heading into the match.
Predicted 3-4-3 Chelsea Lineup Vs Hull City
DEFENCE
Thibaut Courtois will be in goal and is unlikely to be unsettled by rumours linking him with a summer move to Real Madrid in the summer. He will look to glide his way to the Golden Glove this season.
John Terry returns from suspension but is unlikely to break into the starting XI, with Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta and David Luiz all looking assured starters in the three-man defence.
They will hope to have a fairly quite 90 minutes but will have to remain concentrated.
