Based on his impressive stint at Santos, Real Madrid signed Rodrygo in the summer of 2019. Over the years, the player showed great progress in his play and emerged as a valuable asset for the Spanish giant. At present, he is a regular starter in the team and is termed as a ‘big match performer’.
Rodrygo is having a great season where he has 17 goals and nine assists to his name. He is averaging 2.6 shots, 1.4 key passes, and 1.5 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Brazilian attacker is an extremely versatile option who can feature in any position in the offensive line. He has great drilling skills and the vision to provide assists. A good finisher around the penalty area, he is one of the best in the business across Europe.
A far dream for Real Madrid
Rodrygo is an integral part of the Real Madrid squad but his role could be on the diminishing role next season. As Kylian Mbappe is set to join the Spanish giant, the former attacker might find it tough to feature regularly ahead of Vinicius Jr.
Hence, the 23-year-old can make a switch even though he recently revealed his plans to continue for the Whites. If a prominent role is given to him in an exciting project, the player might change his mind. But that won’t be enough for Liverpool to acquire his services.
The Reds will have to offer a mouth-watering offer on the table to sanction the move. To raise the funds, the English club would have to sell Luis Diaz. The Colombian winger has good market value and several interested buyers. However, the transfer looks like a distant dream for now.
