In a recent report, The Sun mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race for Nottingham Forest ace Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer. It has been claimed that Spurs are facing stiff competition in pursuit of the English wide player later this year.
Hudson-Odoi’s Impressive Form In The Premier League
Hudson-Odoi enjoyed a decent campaign at the City Ground as he put in a handful of promising displays for Nottingham in the final third. The 23-year-old has scored eight times and earned two assists in 35 matches for the Midlands club this season in multiple competitions.
The London-born talent has been a consistent performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 1.3 shots, 1.2 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Premier League football. He has even distributed possession relatively well after completing 85.3% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
Hudson-Odoi’s current contract at Nottingham will run out in the summer of 2026 which could make it tough for Spurs to land him on a cut-price deal in the upcoming transfer window.
Is Hudson-Odoi A Good Option For Tottenham Hotspur?
Hudson-Odoi can use his quickness to make some driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to set up a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
The English sensation can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has done well to add some goals to his game this season. However, he has to find a way to be more consistent with his productivity in front of the opponent’s goal.
We can expect Hudson-Odoi to add more firepower to Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the North London club next season. At 23, the future looks quite promising for the gifted wide player as long as he continues to improve with each year.
The English talent might also help Spurs cope with fixture congestion better in the coming seasons. Hudson-Odoi is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a right-winger or play in the number ten position if asked to do so. Therefore, he would be an excellent option for Tottenham to consider later this summer.
