In a recent interview with Wiwsport (via Senego), RS Berkane forward Paul Bassene revealed that he wants to play for Manchester United in the future. The Senegalese centre-forward said,
“First of all, we’ll be aiming to finish third in the league and win the CAF Cup.
“I also want to add more goals to my career. Manchester United is the European club I want to play for in the future.”
Bassene’s Impressive Form In Moroccan Football
The 23-year-old is having a decent season in Moroccan football as he has managed to put in a handful of productive displays for them in the final third. Bassene has scored five times and earned one assist in 22 matches for Berkane during this campaign in multiple competitions.
The Senegalese talent has caught the eye at times with his performances as the focal point of Berkane’s attack. He is currently amongst the best young strikers in African football.
Bassene is under contract at the Moroccan club until the summer of 2026. Thus, Man United would have to make a big offer if they want to lure him to Old Trafford in the upcoming transfer window.
Should Manchester United Snap Bassene Up This Summer?
Bassene can be a decent finisher in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing well on the pitch. He can create some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes on the offensive third of the field.
However, the Senegalese talent is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and would need time to settle into life in English football if Man United decide to move in for him in the summer.
Bassene is far from a finished product at the moment. Thus, it makes no sense for the Red Devils to try and snap him up in the summer transfer window. The Mancunian club would be better off opting for a more proven goal-scorer if they want to strengthen their frontline later this year.
At 23, Bassene has got a bright future ahead but needs to work hard on improving himself if he wants a big move to Man United in the future.
