Back-to-back defeats for Manchester United in the Premier League as they lost to Arsenal by 1-0. The former’s recent performances have been below-par and they need to bounce back as soon as possible. Especially when they have to face Manchester City in the FA Cup final in a couple of weeks.
The Red Devils will next host Newcastle United this week before they travel to face Brighton in their last league game of this season. With two games still to play, they will look to build the momentum and confidence that will be needed to face the mighty Citizens.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup Vs Newcastle United
Defence
Andre Onana’s only mistake against the Gunners was giving the ball away which ultimately led to a goal. However, he should be starting between the sticks once again. Aaron Wan-Bissaka did well at the right-back position and is likely to start this game.
While Jonny Evans remains an automatic pick due to multiple injuries in the defensive unit, Casemiro will be sent to the bench after his careful display. Willy Kambwala is fit again and is in line to start at the centre of the defence.
Left-back Diogo Dalot was one of the United’s players who looked good and will surely start yet another game.
Midfield
Kobbie Mainoo and Scott McTominay are the holding mifielders in the lineup.
As Marcus Rashford continues to be a doubt due to an ankle injury, Alejandro Garnacho should earn another go at the left wing. Skipper Bruno Fernandes’ participation is also under threat. Amad Diallo is likely to make way for Antony on the right flank.
Attack
Rasmus Hojlund had another dismal night where he failed to make any impact. However, he leads the offensive line for the Red Devils.
Tyrell Malacia (knee), Victor Lindelof (thigh), Harry Maguire (muscle), Raphael Varane (muscle), Mason Mount (unspecified) and Luke Shaw (thigh) are confirmed absentees. On the other hand, Anthony Martial (groin) and Amad Diallo (knee) will be assessed before the game.
