Chelsea want to strengthen their attacking force by signing a fresh striker ahead of the next season who can guarantee dozens of goals. According to Fichajes, the Premier League club are eyeing a move for VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.
Serhou Guirassy is breathing fire
After representing multiple clubs, Serhou Guirassy arrived at VfB Stuttgart in 2022 on a loan spell. His impressive debut season tempted the Bundesliga side to make the move permanent. The decision turned out to be fruitful as the striker has been running riots with his clinical finishes.
The Guinean has 27 goals and three assists to his name this season after featuring in 28 games. He is averaging 3.1 shots, 1.6 key passes, and 0.5 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored). He has been influential in placing his team in the Champions League zone.
Guirassy has all the traits that one may want from a striker. He is excellent near the penalty area with his shooting, finishes and headers. Unlike many strikers, he has got strong hold on the ball and can create chances for his teammates.
A good move by Chelsea?
Chelsea already have Nicolas Jackson in the pack but his performances in the recent weeks have raised doubts over his quality. Though he is a good athlete, he misses way too many chances, which a striker of any top club cannot commit to do.
Hence, the Blues want to secure more goals by bringing in a more proven striker. They have shown interest in the likes of Victor Osimhen and Jonathan David. However, the acquisition of any of them will require massive funds, which the club might not be able to spend this time.
Therefore, Chelsea have identified Serhou Guirassy as a viable option. The 28-year-old has a release clause of just €20 million. He has been at the peak of his power and could make an instant impact at the Stamford Bridge.
