Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack thinks that it would be very tough for John Terry to keep up with Antonio Conte’s training methods. Terry has hardly featured for Chelsea this season.
The 36-year-old has been with the club for a span over 17 years. He signed a one-year extension at the start of this season but has only appeared five times in the Premier League.
Terry hasn’t found a place in Antonio Conte’s three-man defence. The Italian has been playing with a 3-4-3 formation with Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Cesar Azpilicueta marshalling the central defence.
Ballack said, “He is big, you don’t’ have to talk about his influence over the last years and his personality
“Now is the point where he is reaching an age where he decides how long he wants to go on that level because I saw the training and it’s quite intense and it’s not getting easier for a guy of his age.
“Still, the class is there, the quality is there and he seems to be having fun and enjoying it.
“And as long as you are having fun as a player you want to remain part of the team, go out in training and help the others with your experience.
“He seems to be doing it.”
