Aston Villa entertained Lille at Villa Park earlier tonight as they looked to earn a win in the UEFA Europa Conference League earlier tonight. The Villans made a good start to the contest and scored the opening goal in the 13th minute when Ollie Watkins found the back of the net. Unai Emery’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
John McGinn doubled Aston Villa’s advantage in the 56th minute before Bafode Diakite got a goal back for the visitors in the 84th minute. Aston Villa ended up securing a hard-fought 2-1 win in front of their home fans.
