According to reports, Galatasaray are keen to tie down their star player Bruma by extending his contract with a lucrative deal. Tottenham Hotspur have been long admirers of the winger and even had a £13m bid for the 20-year-old Portuguese international rejected earlier.
According to the reports, Bruma currently earns £1m-per-year at Galatasaray, who are considering increasing it to £2.1m, while the player’s agent is holding out for over £2.6m. It puts the player out of reach in the immediate future and T4O looks at 3 alternatives Spurs could opt for after missing out on him.
Dimitri Payet
After months of admiration from many big clubs around Europe, the French attacking midfielder’s departure is more or less imminent. Payet has handed his transfer request to the London club and even refused to play anymore. Although the Hammers aren’t willing to part ways with their best player at all, his insistence has made things worse.
And now that the Hammers have learnt to win games without his contribution, as we saw against Crystal Palace, they have priced the player at £29m. Of course, West Ham aren’t going to sell him to their competitors that easily, but Spurs sure have the financial prowess to get the transfer done.
Payet could be a devastating player from the wings and with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli is superb form, his addition could make Tottenham’s attack unstoppable.
Yacine Brahimi
Brahimi has played a huge role in FC Porto’s campaign this season, both in the domestic league as well as European competitions. It was his Champions League goal that helped Porto break Leicester’s perfect UCL run. He has only played 9 times for the Portuguese this season and has scored three goals, creating 12 chances and two assists. Brahimi has completed 153 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 81%, of which 67% were forward passes.
His physique enables him to hold the ball better than most players and his pace on the ball makes him a dangerous winger. His brute strength helps him to outmuscle his way on the wings, and he could serve ideally with Eriksen on the other flank.
Felipe Anderson
The Lazio attacking midfielder is at the top of Chelsea’s transfer list and Pochettino should definitely join the race for the highly-rated Brazilian. The 23-year-old has been impressing one and all with his intelligent play on the wings this season. He has been a threat almost every time he has the ball at his feet.
He has scored two goals this season, creating 35 chances and eight assists. He has completed 544 passes this season with a pass accuracy of 75%, of which 82% have been forward passes. He has played a huge role in Lazio’s excellent role in the Serie A this season. He would really be a very solid, if somewhat unspectacular, addition to this Spurs side.
