West Ham United must have gained a lot of confidence after having tied with Tottenham Hotspur and a victory against the Wolves in their past two matches. It will help them when they take on ruthless Bayer Leverkusen side in the Europa League this week.
The Hammers are hovering around seventh position in the Premier League points table. It means that have nothing left to fight for in the domestic league. Hence, they will exclusively focus on other competitions to make it a productive season.
3-4-2-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup Vs Bayer Leverkusen
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski will be once again lined up between the sticks for West Ham United. However, a couple of unavailabilities will force boss David Moyes to change the formation for the big night. He might prefer fielding a backline of three.
The trio of Kurt Zouma, Dinos Mavropanos and Vladimir Coufal are likely to guard the goal ahead of Fabianski. While Emerson Palmieri operates on the left full-back position, Ben Johnson is set to be deployed on the right-back. Both the players will provide defensive solidity alongside joining the forces in the attacking phases.
Midfield
Tomas Soucek should be fit to start the game and act as the holding midfielder in the lineup. He will be joined by James Ward-Prowse in the absence of Edson Alvarez. The Mexcian football remains suspended for this clash for picking up three yellow cards in the tournament.
Moyes wouldn’t risk playing Kalvin Phillips at Alvarez’s place due to the former’s poor performances recently.
Attack
The Hammers will be without the services of integral attacker Jarrod Bowen. He suffered a blow against Wolves and is unlikely to be available for selection. Therefore, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta are operating on the flanks alongside striker Michail Antonio.
Alphonse Areola (groin) is the other absentee for the clash.
