In a recent report, Don Diario revealed that Real Madrid have been offered a chance to land Manchester City star Bernardo Silva this summer. However, it is understood that Los Blancos could face competition in the form of Barcelona in pursuit of the Portugal international.
Silva’s Impressive Form In Premier League
The 29-year-old is enjoying another impressive season at the Mancunian club after putting in a series of productive displays for them in the final third. Silva has banged in nine goals and grabbed five assists in 38 matches for Man City during this campaign across all fronts.
The Portuguese sensation has been a reliable performer in the opposition half as he is averaging 1.1 shots, 2.0 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He has even been accurate when interchanging possession with his teammates based on his pass completion rate of 89% in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Etihad Stadium will expire in the summer of 2026 which could make it tough for Real Madrid to snap him up on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Snap Silva Up This Summer?
Silva is a decent dribbler with the ball and can make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He can shoot the ball with venom and precision from long range. The Portugal international is a technically gifted footballer who has got the eye to play some decisive passes for his teammates on the offensive end of the field. He usually works hard for his side defensively as well.
Silva is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also function as a right-sided wide player if required. We can expect him to add a lot of firepower to Real Madrid‘s frontline if Carlo Ancelotti can devise a way to get him on board in the upcoming transfer window.
At 29, Silva is playing in his prime and is well-equipped to make an instant impact at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Hence, Ancelotti would be wise to go all out to snap him up when the transfer window reopens later this summer. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in Spanish football.
